Brian Passmore

Bio

Brian Passmore is a Toronto based singer/songwriter. From 2010-2015 he was the lead guitarist and occasional vocalist and songwriter for the Toronto roots rock band, The Key Frames. During this period the band released two full length albums and a vinyl EP, ‘Monophone Heart’, which was produced by Derek Downham. This period also included four tours through Quebec and the Maritimes as well as a tour through western Canada and the Yukon territory. Opening for bands including Randy Bachman and the Sadies, the Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, Union Duke, Jerry Leger, and Sarah Jane Scouten along the way.

In 2014 he began the ‘Creeper Folk Rock Blues’ music night at the Only Cafe in Toronto’s east end. An ongoing residence on the first Sunday of every month where he showcases his latest works in a stripped down solo acoustic set featuring other emerging musicians from the Toronto scene. He continues to gig in and around Toronto in search of different performance spaces and audiences in an ongoing effort to develop and hone his skills as a songwriter and performer.
His songs are at times melancholic while still remaining hopeful, reflections of everyday struggles with love, and the race for success in the face of growing older, framed by optimism and a wry sense of humour.
